I became very attached to the Weasley twins during PoA, and by GoF, George had emerged as my favorite. There was something about him, just a shade quieter than Fred (not in a shy way, mind you, but more in a way that he just seemed more keen to observe and take in the world around him while Fred seemed to really enjoy being the center of attention), with just a slightly sharper wit. I'd been slightly spoiled going forward, and caught wind that both twins would die in DH, and I'd been steeling myself for that fate. Somehow, their separation is even more brutal. 'Untwinning' indeed.

In the weeks that followed the Battle of Hogwarts, parties and funerals were so interspersed that wizards and witches got confused about whether they were supposed to be laughing or weeping, celebrating victory or mourning the fallen.

This is very Irish. I bet the Weasleys have a bit of Irish in them, yes?

After the funerals, everyone goes away.

And this is the hardest thing of all, isn't it? It's one thing to grieve while everyone around you is doing the same, or at least distracting you, but then to go on living?

I liked his quiet bitteness towards his family for daring to go on without Fred, and his resentment towards Percy for taking Fred's last words, and equally, how Percy is finally the one to literally snap him out of it. (And Molly's spell was ingenius. Very much so the sort of thing she would create, and very useful in her life.)

I think I spoke to you about my idea that I would really like to see George and Luna together and my heart did a little flip-flop when I saw the inclusion of her here. And George and Angelina were really lovely, but I think my favorite of all was George and Gabrielle! The chemistry between them- man. Actually my favorite was Tonton and Victoire (not in *that* way, of course)- so cute.
