Okay, I realize that I have more or less abandoned this journal while I pursued real life. Whoops. I'm in the first year of a master's program, and when reading piles up, fandom gets waitlisted. I wish I could do it all--post daily, get my work done--but until I get one of Hermione Granger's timeturners, I'm afraid posting will be a bit more sporadic than I'd like.
On a happier note, I gacked this meme from
monimala. It's fun--you oughta try it!
Fandom High
If you could create your perfect fictional high school, what would it be like?
The School: Chilton, Gilmore Girls. It's the pretty wood paneling and the turrets.
The Principal: Mr. Belding, Saved By the Bell. Dude, if you weren't affiliated with Zach and the gang, the principal didn't care what you did! or, if I wanted someone to do his job, Steven Harper Boston Public.
Your Favorite Teacher (educationally): Mr. Feeny, John Adams High, Boy Meets World.
Your Favorite Teacher (because they're hot): Max Medina, Chilton, Gilmore Girls. :) I'm shallow and I like English. What can I say?
The Sports Authority: Um...In my fictional high school, no one takes gym. :) If I have to choose, probably Whitey from One Tree Hill.
The Jocks: Jack McPhee, Dawson's Creek. A gay football player who gets to stay on the team? It could only happen in Capeside.
The Cheerleaders: One Tree Hill's Brooke Davis, Haley James Scott, Peyton Sawyer and Bevin "Mirskey" (according to imdb, she does have a last name!).
The Brains: The geeks from Freaks and Geeks. LOVE them for Neal's line, if no other "The dance is tomorrow. She's a cheerleader, you've seen Star Wars 27 times. You do the math." Honorable mention to Minkus, Boy Meets World, even through he did disappear for most of high school.
The Outsiders: The pod squad, Roswell. Sure, Michael dropped out of school before he graduated. And Isabel was (supposedly) popular. And Max had Liz. And Tess didn't go to school that much. But they're aliens--you can't get much more "outsider." Honorable mention to the "freaks" of Freaks and Geeks.
The In-School Hangout: Not so much an eraser-room girl. Think I'm gonna have to say the infamous lockers from Saved By the Bell.
The After-School Hangout: Dawson's House and the Creek in general. Honorable mention to The Max, Saved By the Bell. They did more dancing and singing in that place...
