About two inches from the final sleeve of the summer cardi I've been knitting, I realised I'd managed to decrease to the final number of stitches about 14 rows early. Checked the knitting, checked the sleeve, counted everything a couple more times, reassured myself and finished knitting the sleeve to length. Worked in all the yarn ends, washed and blocked the cardi, tried it on and mired my neat work.
Apart from that little bit there, on that sleeve, just an odd-looking stitch. No. Not an odd-looking stitch at all. A dropped stitch. Dammit.
I'll be in the corner trying to unpick the cast-off edge and pick up the dropped stitch. Thank goodness for really fine crochet hooks.
