Much drinking dancing kissing cathedrals euros spent

Walked the streets of Florence 'til 4 AM with an American student, along the river, it was all very romantic, breathtaking and cinematic, except if it had been a movie, we would have fallen in love and talked all night, making plans to meet each other on "our bridge" (he did call it "our bridge", and I was just notsober enough to find it endearing) five years from now, but instead, he tried to fuck me on a table of an outdoor cafe. But it's all so good for that hour when I'm naive enough to think anything can ever be pure.

On the way home, I sat down next to a cute man on the shuttle from JFK, and instantly established an amusing, flirtatious, witty rapport. He hit on me casually, suggesting that I spend the rest of the day showing him around the city, but alas, our relationship could only exist within the distance from the airport to Grand Central station. He hugged me goodbye as we parted at the entrance to the dining concourse, and I sort of never wanted him to let go.

Why oh why do I give pieces of my heart away to strangers on buses who wear awful red and yellow coats?
