Alright, gotta get my act together and get a post done on my blog; I've missed a whole week. Just for my own reference...
* Trailers from CAPCOM's "Captivate 2012" event. Still don't like Dante re-design. I mean, really* Two free DLC to ME3 owners in coming months - MP DLC dropped this week, ending DLC in summer ( Read more... )

Oh... That's a good question. Of those four, probably the underdogs - Atlus.

Squaresoft has a sold track record, but things when to shit when they merged with Enix. The last few Squaresoft games stand out as being some of my favorites, while Squeenix Square-Enix is yet to produce anything compelling.

Capcom has some beautiful indie titles (Okami, the Viewtiful Joe series) and some solid big name titles (DMC, Street Fighter, Resident Evil/Biohazard, Mega Man, Gyakuten Saiban), a slew of arcade titles, and even produced one of my favorite Zelda titles (Minish Cap) which probably puts them in second place.

Konami produced a rhythm game giant (DDR), some of the best survival horror games on the market (Sillent Hill), some of the most well-written games out there (Metal Gear series), one of my favorite indie games (Zone of the Enders), and also has some arcade classics (Frogger!) under their belt... but they also pick up a bunch of official license games that just... aren't any fun.

What sets Atlus apart is that each of their games is an experience. Not always a good one, but you definitely don't forget the experience you had playing it. Cubivore? What the hell was cubivore? Other than awesome, that is. Or Growlanser? The completely unforgiving Disgea series? Of course, Devil Summoner and Persona series. And if you want a challenge, try the brutally hard Demon's Souls... or Catherine on the hardest mode. I died more times than I would like to admit on the latter. Oh! And I nearly forgot Princess Crown and Odin Sphere.

...Ah, but you have me rambling. Atlus definitely does not lack in the creativity department, which is why they are my favorite. Capcom is the most consistent by far, Squaresoft was a bigger competitor prior to their Enix merger, and Konami... well, Konami is a 50/50.

...Actually, that could get me a blog update right there.

[ooc: /o\ I am sorry for the muse ramble.]

Which are your favorite Squaresoft games then?

Okami's great, I've played it once. And everyone's played Street Fighter.

Minish Cap? Seriously? I totally prefer a Link to the Past but that's Nintendo.

Played every damn Silent Hill there is, until they sold out to the American companies. ... Haven't actually played Metal Gear Solid.

Only game from Atlus that I've played is Catherine and I never managed to finish it. Made me too uncomfortable.

And, you're welcome.

[ooc: XDD Ryoma's just stunned he generated such a lengthy reply. XD]

Oh... that's tough. From the Final Fantasy series, VI and IX. Chrono Trigger, and I actually enjoyed Chrono Cross. Vagrant Story. The Bouncer was strangely entertaining. Kingdom Hearts, before it became a cash cow under Square-Enix. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Oh, and Xenogears.

Oh, my favorites of the Zelda series are Link to the Past and Majora's Mask. But I was surprised by how much I liked Minish Cap.

Catherine is definitely a strange game, but it's worth sticking with it, if you can.
