Beautiful chapter :) Dumbledore had me 'hmm-ing'. He seems a bit... odd, I suppose. Stuck in the past, for certain. I hope he doesn't cause too much trouble for Harry - I know it's probably too much to hope for, but ah well.

thank you for reviewing!

Yeah Dumbledore is meant to have people in two minds over him (because i usually am as well). I want him to be misguided, honestly believing he is doing the best thing, for the whole rather than just Harry, knowing that Harry will probably suffer for it. But i dont think he's evil, despite putting Harry through the things he does in canon/Butterfly.
He's doing what he can to win, and he's being human and going about it the wrong way convinced that his way is the only way. Maybe he'll learn?

Cya in Year 2!

Fun chapter. Harry's return note was great. ^^
I don't quite get what Harry taking the stone would have proven, though. That he wants money? Eternal life? How would that have made him more like his parents?
If it were to protect the stone from Voldemort, like in canon, I can sort of see it; but Harry wasn't even made aware of the fact that Voldemort *might* steal it.
Dumbledore doesn't strike me as a particularly logical, much less a wise person in this fic.
Ron with the dragon was cute. *eg*
I hope Harry can help poor Theo.

Dumbledore expects Harry to take the Stone by virtue of the fact that is he curious and knowledge-seeking... He's a lot like his mother in that respect. So rather than, say, use Hermione being in potential danger to get Harry to the Stone (see Troll lol) he used clues to pique Harry's curiosity.
Dumbledore expects to prove that despite the fact that Harry wasnt in Gryffindor like "he should have been", if Harry got the Stone and handed it over, he was still BWL material. If he kept the Stone, Dumbledore would be worried. As it is, he doesnt know what to think, and he doesnt want to trust Harry to defeat Voldemort, if he doesnt trust Harry at all........

LOL, yeah had to include Norbert. Even a little lol! :P

Since Harry knew what the stone was and didn't take it, shouldn't Dumbledore be happy? It's very similar to taking it and handing it in - and makes more sense, since Harry knew Dumbledore knew where the stone was, so taking it only to hand it back must seem very pointless to him.
