In honor of the vanity...

In anticipation of receiving some pieces from a Buckley family heirloom bedroom set, I've spent the past two days clearing stuff out of the bedroom so that we can deep clean the room before bringing the new furniture in.  It's fair - most of the stuff in there is mine, and I happened to have the days off from both of my jobs so I have the time.

It's been interesting.  I've uncovered lots of things I'd completely forgotten about. Seanie has three or four guitars - who knew?  I can't even remember the last time I saw him play one.

For me, the surprises have been books.  About a year ago, I got a great collection of art books on Freecycle, and I only really explored three or four of them before the rest got piled in a corner and forgotten. When the room gets put back together, I'll have to put them somewhere prominent so I won't lose them again.

I should have taken "before" pictures.  Right now the room is about half empty - everything that wasn't on a surface is out.  Before I go to bed I'm going to try to pack up my makeup and jewelry and other items sitting on top of my chest of drawers.

I can't wait to get the new furniture!  One piece is a vanity with a large mirror.  Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted one of those, and now I'll finally have one. Hopefully we'll pick up the furniture this weekend, and by next week I'll be able to post some "after" pictures.
