GLOSSYBOX
OCTOBER 2014
It's October. Will there be a theme in the Glossybox? I don't think so, because they haven't shown much interest in coordinating the items in the box unless a guest curator in charge. But I am hopeful that there will somehow be something Halloweenish or autumnal about October's box.
Well, this definitely isn't themed in any way. Glossybox has definitely settled into a pattern - every box seems to have a nail polish, a lip item, something for the hair...but I see some things that I'm really interested in, so someone did a good job.
TARTE COSMETICS Power Pigment in 'Flush': Wow, I love this! Tarte is a brand that I've only heard good things about, and this lip tint is very smooth and moisturizing, with rich berry color. It's perfect for me. Full-sized product. $24.00
PROGANIX Volume Root Boost Finish: As I've gotten older, I've noticed more and more issues with volume at the roots. I honestly don't see how spraying caffeine and soy will help my hair look better - those ingredients might be great in my morning latte, but on my hair? Well, I'll try it. I have to admit that the bottle does intrigue me. Full-sized product. $11.99
NAILS INC Westminster Bridge Matte Top Coat: I've been wanting one of these ever since I saw some of the cool effects my friend J was able to achieve using a matte top coat. I'm really happy to see this in a subscription box. Full-sized product. $10.00
VINCE CAMUTO Amore Eau de Parfum: I love this perfume. It smells so good! It's a very sweet fragrance, a sort of sugary floral grounded in sandalwood and amber. It reminds me of that Pink Sugar scent that was super popular about ten years ago, but better because that rampant sweetness has been tamed. Deluxe sample, .25 oz. $5.74
SESHA Botanical Hydro Mask: This is one of those single use sheet masks that I love because they're so easy to use. They also seem really decadent because you throw the mask away at the end. (Why this is different from a clay mask that you wash down the drain, I can't define.) Single use. $9.00
It's an interesting line-up. I like most of the items and will use them, which isn't always the case with these Glossybox selections. It's like the company knows that my subscription expires next month and they really want ton convince me to re-subscribe. At this point, I don't think I will - I'm so very well stocked on skin and beauty care - but they've got one last chance to change my mind next month. If November's box is as useful as this one, I will have a really hard time resisting!
