GLOSSYBOX
AUGUST 2014
This is a special Glossybox - well, aren't they all special? - because it's the three year anniversary of the subscription service.  Global CEO Charles von Abercron included a short note describing his inspiration for the company and the growth of the service.  Over six million Glossyboxes ship every month to doorsteps around the world, including countries in Europe, North America, and Asia.

So happy birthday, Glossybox!  Let's see what you chose to celebrate.

UBERLISS Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner: Hooray!  Travel-sized shampoo and conditioner!  I know it's a weird thing to get excited over, but with waist-length hair I go through shampoo and conditioner very quickly, and most travel-sized bottles only last me a few days.  I can always use more.  Ingredients like royal jelly, blueberry, apple, green tea, lemon peel and keratin help promote hair softness, strength and shine.  Shampoo: $3.99  Conditioner: $4.32

EYEKO Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in Black: I have not yet shown an apitude for liquid liners. I can't seem to use them without making a huge mess all over my lid.  Le sigh.  I actually have one of these black Eyeko liners floating around somewhere - maybe I can trade this one for another color. $8.00

ESLOR Firming Collagen Day Cream: It's a birthday, which means we're all getting older, so of course Glossybox included an anti-aging face cream.  Stuffed full of skin-firming ingredients to help improve skin elasticity and prevent the appearance of wrinkles.  Yes, please. $17.00

KRYOLAN Highlighter in Cashmere: This pot is a custom creation for Glossybox - it has the Glossybox logo on the lid.  The product is also unique to Glossybox - a highlighter that can be used on cheekbones, eyes and elsewhere to create a lit-from-wthin glow.  I've never been much of a user of highlighter (most days if I get eyes penciled and lips colored in, I'm ahead of the curve) but since I have this, maybe it's time I start figuring out how to use it. $18.95

LAMOON BEAUTY Precision Nail Lacquer in Trillion Dollar Red:This is a nice, deep red - it came off as somewhat  brown in the photograph but it's actually more of a bright ruby red.  Great color for fall! $5.95

It's a nice collection - nothing that I get too excited about, but a decent variety of things.  I don't have too many Glossyboxes left  - I think three or four left?  It's time to start thinking about whether or not I want to resubscribe to this box.  On the one hand, the stuff is always of good quality.  On the other hand, I've just got too many beauty products after a year of Glossybox and Ipsy.  Perhaps it would be better to take some time off.
