GLOSSYBOX
JUNE 2014: STARS & STRIPES BOX
To kick off the start of summer, Glossybox created a special America-themed box.  I believe that all of the products were created by American companies, which is unusual since Glossybox is a UK-based company and tends to have English and Continental brands.  I'm almost more interested in the box than its contents, but let's see what we've got.

STRANGEBEAUTIFUL Colorbloc Nail Polishes: One of my nail polish bottles was chipped (the red one) but thankfully it didn't spill its contents all over the box. The colors are very bright and rich, so I only needed a single coat.  The navy blue and red will be perfect for that 4th of July manicure.  It's a "3 Free" polish, too - no formaldehyde, tolouene, or DBP. $18.00.

RUSK Texture Dry Finishing Spray:  Yet another texturing spray.  Gosh.  I don't know what to do with them.  They just don't do much for my hair, because it's already pretty wavy/curly and sprays tend leave a fine white powder behind that is easily visible because of my dark hair. $4.50.

AYRES Patagonia Body Butter: This thick, emollient cream has a fresh, clean smell that reminds me of those outdoors-inspired aftershaves for me.  But the scent is very light, so it won't overwhelm your neighbors.  It's too heavy to use all over the body, but for dryness prone patches like elbows and ankles it's perfect. $4.15.

CAMILLE BECKMAN Platinume Gold Imperial Repair Hand Therapy: Initially, I didn't recognize the name of this brand, but as I glanced over the website I realized I've seen Camille Beckman hand creams sold at local flea markets for YEARS.  My mom always bought them and kept a small pot of lotion with a rose glued to the lid sitting on her nightstand.  Heck, there's probably one there right now.  This tube of hand lotion is the next stage in the product's evolution, formulated to restore damaged skin.  I'll have to let Mom take this tube and see if she approves. $10.00.

SUMITA BEAUTY Eye Shadow Pencil in Champagne: Use this as a liner, a highlighter, or an all-over shadow.  It's just a hint of golden shimmer, nothing too bright or flashy.  Glides on very smoothly and easily. $18.00.

C. Wonder Promotional Gift Card: Tossed into the package, almost as an afterthought, there was also a gift card for C. Wonder.  It could have a value anywhere between $5-$500, according to the package.  Naturally, mine was $5.00.  I don't know if I'll use it, because C. Wonder seems like a very overpriced shop that hasn't made it out to the West Coast yet.
