Now that I've watched Frozen, I can reply to this!
How spectacularly awesome is it about the first love? And the act of true love that (as always) saves everything is not what you'd expect from a Disney movie. I was so pleased about the latter (possibly more than the former) just because Disney, and everyone else it seems, always forgets that true love can go beyond romantic love; that, in fact, family love can actually be stronger.
Were you confused by the African musical intro and ending of the movie? It didn't fit considering the setting; Disney makes it very clear they're in a Scandinavian country.
Do you mean that Frozen Heart song that the ice cutters were singing? I didn't really read that as African, more like Celtic/Lumberjack/maybe Viking music.
