Today was my mother-in-law's birthday. (I don't have any photos with her, but I always liked this one from our wedding.) The family got together to celebrate down in Morgan Hill with Chinese take-out.* It was nice to see everyone all together, and the restaurant was pretty empty, so Rhi's twins could run around without disturbing other guests. Thank goodness. Seanie's uncle had bought a bunch of lottery tickets and scattered them all over the table so everyone could play, but I don't think there were any big winners. Seanie actually managed to win $2 or $3 on his ticket, but at the end of the night it was nowhere to be found. Hopefully someone cashed it.
* There's a reason no one goes to Morgan Hill for Chinese food. While the service was great, the food was subpar at best. Most of it was too salty or too fried to be good, but as my brother-in-law said, "It's standard American Chinese food," not properly Chinese food - or Chinese American food, since the stuff I get in San Francisco isn't too similar to what you get in China, I've been told.
