the moose are why i remember this movie. never saw it, but always wanted to watch the moose. rick moranis and dave thomas used to do characters on a canadian tv show called SCTV. they were known for their skit of bob and doug mckenzie....who talked about beer non-stop and ended most things with "eh". ^_^ it was a poke at canadians in the funniest ways. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_and_Doug_McKenzie the moose were based on these characters.
:D Awesome! They were just different enough from the rest of the tone of the movie that I figured the moose must be a reference to something, but I had no idea what show or book or whatever it could be.
you're not actually old enough to have watched SCTV, eventho i know it did get played in the US. it's typically canadian with a full canadian cast, which included the above plus john candy, eugene levy, andrea martin, catharin o'hara, among others. we canadians have a strange sense of humour which the US seems to find hilarious! ^___^ ahh, loved that show!
(also, just a note, i make it a point to never use "eh" as a natural part of my vocabulary. i only use it when imitating canadian stereotypes...)
I didn't notice the inconsistencies in the drawings, but now I wonder if there is the same problem with the sequel which Disney Channel occasionally tries to wear thin around these parts. The meese are the only really funny thing about either of those films, and there is a girl-character in the sequel that seriously gets on my nerves. Either she's being a bitch or there is a lot of the kind of action where characters, especailly female, do a lot of "AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHH OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!" Yeah, I wasn't particularly impressed with either of these either.
Being a fan of the Disney classics I'm looking forward to what you think of the others. :)
Is the proper plural of moose "meese?" I wasn't sure, except I was pretty sure it wasn't "mooses" so I just kept using moose over and over and over again :-p
Most likely not, but I think it sounds fun, so I use it. And nobody has ever been able to supply me with a satisfactory explanation why it isn't moose -> meese when it's goose -> geese. (I also would like to know why it's not house -> hice, when it's mouse -> mice and louse -> lice. :) )
