All roads lead to...

The Rome / Bari trip is all booked; our summer trip for the year.

Being in HK and travelling with an infant meant restricted flights options - crappy Cathay Pacific - only direct flights to minimize any hassle. As it is, the main purpose of our trip is for a wedding in Bari (no direct flights, we have to transit via Milan and Rome). Milan wasn't considered given that it is mostly an industrial town (I heard not very pretty) and I ain't that interested in shopping; so Rome it is.

CX has ONE direct flight a day to and from Rome. Sigh!

It's only March but the cheapest mileage accruable tickets are ALL GONE for our original dates (July 22-30). Two days ago each ticket cost HKD 14,712. This morning, even those were gone; we were asked to pay HKD 16,612, a hike of HKD 1,900. WTH!

I made the executive decision to shorten our trip by a day, saving us HKD 3,320 each. We won't be city-hopping much as we have Clover with us; logistically it'd be a nightmare. It's just Bari for 3.5 days and Rome for 3 days.

We shall leave the picturesque Italian cities (Florence, Amalfi Coast, etc.) for when we travel without Clover.

Would you fork out the extra HKD 6,640 for two extra days in Rome (flying back Sunday)?
