Top Ten Thursday: 2010 Movies

May 19, 2010 18:46

I am on vacay (again) tomorrow; tough life but someone's got to do it. This time I am heading to Lijiang via Shenzhen (direct flight) so I'm off to stay in a "deluxe suite" for RMB 340 in Vienna Hotel by Baoan Airport tonight. A suite for that kind of price, I can well imagine the horrors greeting my arrival. Oh well, I just need a place to crash for a few hours.

Thus, this week's T10Thurs comes early (again). It's almost half the year gone and we have already seen big releases - Iron Man, Robin Hood, Clash of the Titans - here's my list of movies I can't wait to see for the rest of the year:

Jess' 2010 Top Ten Highly Anticipated Movies

1. Sex and The City 2
Was there ever a doubt this would be my #1 most anticipated movie? To be honest, I am not watching it for the plot but the characters, venues and wardrobe. Oh and perhaps for old time sakes because as a TV series, it was a lot stronger content wise and the defining show of my time (growing up).

2. Eat Pray Love
Another chick flick. I like 2/3s of the book and love Julia Robert. Can't wait to see how the film version is going to turn out. Plus seeing Javier Bardem as Felipe will eradicate the shock horror of having seen (in pictures) the real Felipe (he's ancient). *Fingers crossed* this won't be a crap adaptation like P.S. I Love You and Marley and Me.

3. Shrek Forever After
Fat Puss, enough said.

4. Salt
Two words: Angelina Jolie.

5. The Social Network
Dark comedy about Mark Zuckerburg.

6. The American
Ahem, two more words: George Clooney.

7. The Expendables
All the past and current action stars in the same movie? Count me in! (Okay I admit, I am only there to see Bruce Willis)

8. Inception
Directed by Christopher Nolan (who did the Dark Knight) and with a decent cast - Dicapro, Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai), Ellen Page (Juno). I am hoping this would be good.

9. The Fighter
Boxing film based on a true story. Possible Oscar nods for the lead and supporting actors - Mark Walberg and Christian Bale.

10. Twilight: Eclipse
Well I have read all the books and seen the first two (in-flight entertainment), I may as well give in and watch the third. This probably ranks a lot higher in most women's books. Team Jacob Edward Carlise (I am into men not boys).

What are some of the releases you are waiting for?
