Top Ten Thursday: (Famous) Men

Mar 19, 2010 12:27

I am sure it is still Thursday some where in the world. This week's topic, men. Older (famous) men to be exact.

Top Ten Men Over 50 49

1. George Clooney (49)
Oh George, I lowered the age range just so I could include you. We first met when I was mere 15 and you busy saving lives in ER. I didn't think it was possible to fall for you since your colleague, Noah, was obviously much cuter (for my age). I've got  to say, the whole aging and turning grey thing suits you. Like fine wine, you're my number one silver fox. Xoxo

2. Hugh Laurie (51)
Dear Hugh, where do I even start? You make sarcasm, cynicism and mean look like the best qualities in a man. It helps that you are always mostly right and saving lives (what's with me and doctors). By the way I love the biker look and your (real) English accent - so much sexier than the fake American accent (damn good job on that though). Xoxo

3. Bruce Willis (55)
Darling Bruce, you are my favourite bald flawed hero - between car chases, kicking butts and taking bullets, it's amazing you still have time to pull off that I'm-tough-but-sensitively-smouldering look. Everytime I see you I just want to hide behind you (that's a compliment). I think it's pretty cool that you can see dead people. Xoxo

4. Pierce Brosnan
Must be that Irish accent or his devotion to his wife (I like family men) or just his gorgeous eyes and charming smile that draws you in. He is my favourite 007.

5. Sir Ian McKellan
Hello Gandalf / Magneto! I love the whole ridding in on Shadowfax or controlling magnetism stuff. The geeky helmut you wear to protect yourself against Xavier is cool (in a weird way). It's just too bad that you're batting for the other team.

6. Gabriel Burn
Another Irish on my list; an odd pick for many. I've been a big fan since I saw him in Point of No Return (American remake of Nikita) and of course Little Women. I had even watched End of Days only because he was in it. It's those Irish eyes I tell you; there's something magical about them!

7. Sean Connery
Another one from the 007 club. I have to admit, I prefer him older and so does People magazine (he is the older winner of Sexiest Man Alive). And I've watched Dragonheart 5 times because the dragon was created via whatever technology from his likeness. Obsessed much? He's ultra cool in The Rock compared to Nick Cage

8. Daniel Day Lewis
Oh lordy, I don't even know where to start. There is something charming about an actor taking his craft (or maybe for vanity sake) so seriously; I like driven men.

9. Liam Neeson
Ahem, the third Irish on my list; albeit technically British (he's borned in N. Ireland).  He has this quiet dignity about him (and my sincere condolence for the loss of his wife). Plus he is Obi-zero (Qui-Gon-Jinn) ya know!

10. Simon Cowell
Mr. Nasty, my bad boy pick of the lot. Frankly he is the only reason why I watched any of the AI episodes after season 3.

Andy Garcia - You stole my young heart in When a Man Loves a Woman, why oh why did you put on so much weight?
Robert De Niro - I like him and his work alot but in the sack not so much. Actually not at all.

Who are some of your favourite male actors / celeb over 49?
