Why did everyone tell me Zack and Wiki (for the Wii) was so good? I was under the impression it was some sort of really good adventure game that happened to be for the Wii. That's a lie. It's a SHITTY adventure game that's for the Wii. I ended up liking the art style more than I thought I would (although I had to turn the sound off eventually. The character voices are irritating). The problem I have with it is that it's a Sierra-style adventure game. Many of the levels were fun, self-contained puzzles where failure doesn't kill you and the puzzles make sense. However, several levels feature timing-based puzzles, that require the use of fidgety and error prone wii controls, and that when you lose you DIE and have to repeat 20 minutes of gameplay. You can buy these tickets that let you come back to life, but of course if you use one it penalizes you heavily and gives you less money to buy more tickets with. So, I just ran out of money and tickets, and I'm at the hardest level in the game (second to last). I just died 4 times in a row to a stupid sword fighting mini game that refused to accept my wii input correctly. I was about to kick my tv, and my arm hurts from frustrated random flailing. Instead, I have returned the game to Gamefly unbeaten.
If you're easily frustrated, do not play Zack and Wiki. It is not relaxing, and locks to mock you for your failures in life. However, the art style is kiddy enough that you don't feel particularly awesome when you beat it. I just feel angry and sad :(
