We must understand that those people are ignorant and arrogant sheep that wish to be led around and told what to do, because it decreases their anxieties about life in general. When you don't have to think for yourself, suddenly life becomes so much easier, thus they all group together all listen to the same pastors, fox news, same political views, vote for who they are told to vote for, believe what they are told to believe.
Their mind set is this: I am a man/woman. I am a Christian. I love Jesus. People who are not like me are going to hell and they going to ruin this country, turn my kids gay, and I'll see people marrying their dogs next.
This is why I detest organized religion, because I think a relationship with "god" is a personal one, not a fucking public one. I think they should all read the bible themselves privately and come to their own conclusions, and also take into consideration when the Bible was written and by whom. The passage against laying with the same sex had nothing to do with morals. At the time that was written the population growth was low. That was written to tell people to have sex in a way that would birth more children. That was it. Sodom and Gomorrah had nothing to do with homosexuality. Angels did not even have a fucking gender. It was a story about a city that was controlled by an asshole who did horrible shit. The one guy that wasn't an asshole in the city was saved by choosing to let guards rape his daughters instead of god's fucking messengers. Clearly, who ever really wrote that shit didn't think much of women, nor did the writer think god gave a shit about women either.
The bible also has slavery, passages about killing people who work on sundays, killing witches, men not being able to see a woman while they are on their periods, not being able to eat fucking shell fish, etc, etc.
But in reality most of these shit faced Christians don't even read their own biblical text and they just read what their pastor tells them to read or just listen to what their church tells them it says and what it means. They don't want actually go read and research the meaning for themselves. These people are scared of change, reality, life itself.
The Bible, the Koran, etc are all written by men for men. It doesn't have anything to do with god. It is more philosophical then anything else.
