I'm not really surprised or afraid of the current state of the world, but it does make me very sad. As a public servant (Read: bus driver) I am exposed to a multitude of attitudes and a variety of personalities.
Since August 2012 I have been physically assaulted on the job twice, verbally assaulted more times than I can count, had to deal with blood, vomit, urine and a hundred other disgusting substances on the buses.
I have also been the victim of an attempted assault on my own time, in my own space. Is it any wonder that all the sane, reasonable people of the world are being driven to insanity??
I struggle to gain an understanding of why people behave in such vile, disrespectful ways. And HOW they get away with it! At this rate, the people in charge of the world in ten years will just blow us all up cause they don't understand respect, tolerance and compromise.
I feel like I should go get a couple guns and a couple pounds of whatever drug is popular right now and just go be a gangbanger. But I'm too white, too soft spoken, too female and entirely too properly raised to be able to survive in that culture.
What ever hapened to proper values?
