Week has gone by.

Memorial Day Monday

Parade

I don't know..I don't want to but I guess it's still there?

From the Providence Journal:

"LINCOLN -- Michael J. Monteleone died of an irregular heartbeat caused by an enlarged heart, according to an interim report from the state medical examiner.

The state is still studying why the 14-year-old Lincoln High School student, who collapsed at the end of baseball practice on May 9, had an abnormal heart. The answer may be weeks or months away, said a Department of Health spokeswoman.

But one thing is clear: if a defibrillator had been close at hand, Michael's odds of surviving would have increased dramatically.

An automatic external defibrillator is an electronic device about the size of a laptop computer. It analyzes a patient's heartbeat and, if necessary, administers a powerful shock to restore a regular rhythm.

The automatic external defibrillator is so user-friendly that it actually talks. And when it's used, a patient has a 30-percent to 50-percent chance of surviving cardiac arrest, compared to a 5-percent chance without the device, said Dr. Neil Brandon, a staff cardiologist at South County Hospital, in South Kingstown.

Brandon pointed to the case of Kaitlin Forbes, a 15-year-old softball player from Rhinebeck, N.Y., who went into cardiac arrest during physical education class on May 11 -- two days after Michael died. A coach applied a defibrillator right away, and Kaitlin survived.

Urged on by such stories and statistics, Lincoln Rescue Capt. Roger Paquette is raising money to buy 10 to 12 defibrillators, enough to ensure that every high school athletic event has one on hand."---who's in?

I can't help it, I cried in church the other day thinking about him.

Tasha, it's time for a LEGAL visit, you down?
