And on the subject of books...
I will be in the vicinity of Portland, OR during Thanksgiving (where
"vicinity" means "within a few hundred miles"). This means, among other
things, that it's time for another pilgrimage to Powell's Books, a.k.a. Destroyer of
Jyasu's Credit Card (the good news is I can get a huge number of books for
the price of one bankruptcy). This brings me to the purpose of this
thread:
Recommend something! I love to take these opportunities to find
new authors, stories, and even genres, so if you have favoured authors or
favoured books that you haven't recommended to me yet, leave a comment
below. I currently prefer fantasy and to a lesser extent sci-fi, but I'm
open to other genres (particularly anything that's witty). So recommend
some books; if I haven't read them I'll try to pick them up when I go to
Powell's :)
P.S.: Yes, I was just in Powell's two months ago. No, I haven't
finished going through the books from that trip yet. That won't stop me
from walking out of Powell's with a stack of books though. Also, if you
seek revenge for my attempts to bankrupt you on RPG soundtracks, this is
your golden opportunity! Don't pass it up :)
