no probs galen. i chose simple minds because they are a very gaelic band. coming into existence around the same time as U2, they developed along a different musical path. everyone knows their big hit song "Don't you forget about me", but my favourite album of theirs is New Gold Dream (which was the "living" soundtrack to my converting from catholicism to buddhism when i was in my mid teens). simple minds are a celtic christian rock band, whose christianity is not immediately apparant(unless you listen to tracks like Book of Brilliant Things and Sanctify Yourself:)

Instinct told me to choose the songs i did. I very much see Liam in a few of the tracks (i liked your include of your thoughts on Let it all come down- it ended up a quite appropriate track eh:)

The gaelic songs are from an album called the Seven Steps to Mercy, by some guy with a wacky welsh name with too many syllables for my liking.

Clannad was inevitable for liam (sigh - my harn soundtrack is being pillaged!)- teh track Sirius was included for future development which will include linking Lleu to Sirius (played by Kieran R).

I am happy to hear that the music showed a resonance with yourself, and helped you imagine Liam/Lleu better. Thats the whole point of the music. :)

Learn something new every day :) I hadn't known they were Gaelic. I knew some of their stuff, including of course "Don't you forget about me".

*Grins* I thought you might. I was listening to that song and felt it really fit with the surrender to Lleu, giving some kind of reason why someone like Liam would turn from warring with this presence to accepting it.

The last little touch was both the end cycle of his submission to the situation, but also a little smiling nod to the Room AoA session which those of us there would hopefully appreciate ;)

Which describes pretty much anything in Welsh, really, barring a few exceptions :p

And of course half the letters are pronounced differently to English (one F is the V sound, two FF's make the F sound)

I have a number of Clannad albums, having long been a fan of their work. A Clannad soundtrack eh? Sounds like an interesting game then.

I don't think I've interacted with Sirius much/at all, but it could just be a lapse in my memory on the name :)

Which it did, very well :)

my favourite album of theirs is New Gold Dream (which was the "living" soundtrack to my converting from catholicism to buddhism when i was in my mid teens).

I've found bands like Clannad and other bands/artists less well known to have been ones listened strongly to whilst discovering my own spirituality.

As mentioned, music is something that impacts me strongly on an emotional and memory level. I remember sitting under Ankerwyke (believed by some to be a physical representation of Yggdrasil, the World Tree) with the smells of damn earth and forest surrounding me, snippets of remembered songs flittering through my memory, strands of Clannad's Gaelic works and their ilk.
