"if the skyline looks this way then i don't want to sleep tonight..."

figured i should give some sort of update seeing as how a lot has happened.

workcamp was cool, didn't like some stuff that went down but what's the use is dwelling on the bad? i'd rather keep the happy memories.

and many happy memories occured. my crew was kick-butt awesome. the breakdown:
  • debbie - adult female, lives a grand total of maybe 10 minutes from me. is the head of the red cross for fairfax county or something like that. she's awesome, one of those rare adults that sits back and lets the youth do their thing but doesn't let the youth do anything stupid. probably one of the most chill/caring adults i've ever met.
  • john - just turned 21 two weeks ago. another rare combination of adult/youth. took charge but was still relaxed and fun, and really easy to talk to. i was the closest to his age so we clicked right away. he goes to catholic university in dc.
  • megan - the most mature 15 year old girl i've ever met. from maryland. sweet and funny and also very easy to talk to. we paired up for pretty much everything - spotted each other's ladders, painted on the roof together, made fun of the 2 teenage guys together. she was super cool.
  • rich - 16 almost 17 gonna be a junior from nj. i thought he was gonna be really quiet at first but he proved me wrong! i told him that too. he was a really hard worker and still made everything fun.
  • andrew - 15 years old from michigan. kinda a flirt but really funny and was a great source of laughter for everyone. i picked on him a lot but he was a cool guy.

our resident was kara and she had a 4 year old son named isaiah. i didn't like the kid at first, he was a little terror on the first day, but then rich started talking to him and they got close and isaiah mellowed out and turned into a mini-miracle for our crew. he was adorable and sweet and talkative by the end of the week. i have some really cute pics of him i'll put up later.

our job was painting all of the second story trim and the porch. we wound up painting some stuff on the first story too, and doing some yardwork, because we didn't want to leave and we were all so attatched to her and her kid by the end of the week. if you want any more stories, ask me personally.

sunday was my 1 year with sean. he surprised me by taking me to skyline drive. i had never been there, only lurray cavens, and it was so pretty. i knew we were going somewhere, he was picking me up at 9 am on sunday, and he showed up with a single long-stemmed rose. awww. lol. i didn't get home until almost midnight. we had a great time, saw a bunch of deer and a baby bear and a gorgeous sunset. once again, if you want more details, ask me personally. but i have the sweetest boyfriend ever!!

worked monday from 1-9:30 and tuesday 9:30-5. i had off today, went to the dentist and got my allergy shots, and tomorrow i'm off and i have to go get the meningitis shot. i work friday 1-9:30 and saturday 9:30-2.

so i guess that's about it. i have some pics i'll put up later, maybe tomorrow. i dunno. i'm on my new laptop, by the way. =-D it's cool. i'm using it a lot now so i can get used to it by the time i go to college.

yuppp.
