Got some extra time down here in Olympia. Came down to see ol' Randy, but he had an unexpected meeting for a job he just got, so he had to abandon me for 2 hours or so :( But I'm a big girl and I found the computer lab.
I realized I didn't post pretty much anything about my summer job. And now its over. Hmm, one of these days I'll write all about it, but pretty much, we hiked and camped and stopped here and there to collect data, then hiked and camped some more. I felt in much better shape by the time I was done for sure. Many miles a day, 50 lbs packs, hills, hills and more hills. I was the least in shape of anybody too. At first I was not okay with it. Our first long trip was so damn hard for me. Wanted to quit on the spot. But then I got used to being by myself when we hiked, so it got a lot better. Oh and this woman we worked with named Judy. Complete sociopath. One of those people that never ever really thinks they are wrong about anything. And never apologized once. The bad part is, it didn't really show at the beginning of the season, then it slowly started getting worse and worse, so by the time it really sucked, there wasn't much that could be done about her. But we made it. Haha and she didn't ruin the summer by any means. In fact, bitching about her mean-ness was kind of a bonding experience. My two other co-workers, Pete the supervisor, and Molly, were totally awesome, laid back people, and really goofy and fun to be around. Which was great. Cause I think its terrible important to be goofy. I'll post a bit more about the summer later though...
We just got back from Wyoming in more recent news. Spent about 2 weeks there with Adam's family. Who I think are great. I'm so very glad that they are great. And fun to be around. And they like me :) Anywho, Wyoming is still there, and I still like it. Dry dry air though. And funny tasting water. And not much recycling. But I've come to realize that we have pretty much the best water ever in the Northwest, and King County is one of the only places in the world that recycles pretty much EVERYTHING. (Yay!) Saw Devil's Tower this time around. Pretty damn neat-o. And we drove the long way through Jackson Hole this time, and that area is sooooo beautiful. Far eastern Idaho and far Western Wyoming. Gorgeous. All the trees turning colors, and mountains (Los great Tetons). Very lovely.
I'll leave it at that for now, time to go...adios!
