Kelly and Brian decided not reveal Clark's secret at the end of Homecoming. The reasoning so I hear was so that last scene could be just about the emotion of Clark and Lois exchanging their I love yous. The good news about that decision was it allowed the Smallville writing team to devote an entire episode to revelation of Clark’s secret.
The bad

I agree with you. It appeared to me that this episode was being re-written even as it was filming. There were so many good ways to handle Isis and those ways were thrown out in the episode and were apparent to the viewer, and yet, those good ways and threads were not picked up and instead were left dangling before us.
You see the Sun God (and what else would anyone call Clark? He is the Sun God) brought to his knees by Isis. And you give a good plot for this to happen.
I've always seen Lana as Isis (she formed a foundation called Isis---of course Lana is Isis) and she has always been obsessive about Clark and wanting to possess everything about him. Secrets and Lies, Clark. She also, in her way, kept him with her on the Farm.
The show should have kept this Isis meme for Lana, if or when she comes back. Although Tess could work. Tess has been controlling and possessive of Clark and his abilities, too.
I don't know why I put this in here. Yes I do. It's Clark's foot. And Clark's foots are up in the air when Lois jumps him! I loved that screen cap too. It's so disarming! Or in Clark's case, disFooting.
And now Tess's possessiveness has been transferred to Little Lex.
I like your comparison of Chloe and Ollie with Isis and Osiris. Chloe has disappeared and Ollie is moaning and mooning but not the good kind of mooning. ;-)
This episode could have worked really beautifully, but there were too many re-writes or not enough time. Maybe we'll have a commentary on this episode. I think that Thirst transcended the lack of time and the frantic re-writes to make a very good episode. Isis had a very good director, Mr. Marshall, who managed to keep most of the episode running well and making sense. He also did a bang up visual job on the episode too.
last piece of Osiris (which wasn't his heart, by the way)
Was it his head? ;-D
The boy who's grown into the man she loves.
And that is the key to Clark and Lois. Lois loves Clark, she doesn't own him or want to own him. And that is why this conjunction of Lois and Isis just rings very false to me.
They've given up all pretense at this point haven't they? They don't even try to come up a decent excuse for Lois' outfits anymore.
What is it with you? There doesn't need to be ANY REASON for Lois to wear costumes and outfits! You are probably one of those people who think that Ollie's shirtlessness must be relevant to the story line. JeeH!
Lois seemed to get quite a charge out of pretending to be Clark!
That was cute. Even her face changed when she was doing Clark.
Ollie and wheat stalks go together. The wheat stalks are like arrows in his quiver. Hmmm, Ollie's Quiver.
No one thinks it strange an enchanted necklace just happens to disappear from Oliver's little show and end up in Lois' purse?
It never was in Ollie's show. It always was in Lois's purse. It got there in Africa when Lois was talking to Carter Hall.
Pay attention to the previouslies! The previouslies that weren't previous on Shield but could have been if some one had thought to put them there. Where is Hall? He always disappears when you need him. Ask his lovely wife about this, the stories she has to tell.

Would the 'Accidental Dropping of the Amulet of Isis in Lois's Bag' qualify or not qualify for that? It wasn't technically in the Shield episode. That makes it interesting.

Pay attention to the previouslies!
Ah ha! Not it makes so much since. My recorded copy of the episode cut all the the previouslies prior to Supergirl off.
Curse you Smallville! I had no idea the previouslies were required viewing.
