Season nine look back (Savoir & Metallo edition)
Goodvibe had a great "Best of S9" post which has inspired me to do something similar as I work my way back through the season this summer. Basically a compilation the moments I found most memorable in each episode.
I'll also be trying to crack the season nine formula. I've come up with a list of ten things which seemed fairly prevalent this season and will be checking them off each episode. The list is subject to change and suggestions are more than welcome.
Savior
Favorite Moment
You're an obnoxious Jackass!
OK, I didn't really have a favorite moment for Savior sadly enough. So Lois calling Ollie a "Jackass" will have to do.
Hell Yeah! Moment
Stop that train!
Clark catches a train. Literally. If this scene hadn't violated most laws of physics it would have been my favorite moment.
Most emotional (or difficult to watch) moment:
I've never asked you for anything!
Chloe begs Clark to go back in time and same Jimmy.
Least favorite moment (tie)
Ouch!
Zod chokes Tess. And Chloe tells Clark there's nothing human about him.
OMG moment
Sex and violence on steroids
Lois' visions of the future.
WFT moment
Legs, really?
Chloe can't get hold of Oliver for three weeks but Lois finds him in less than a day.
Season nine authenticity check for Savior:
Someone kneeled before Zod - Check.
Zod quotes earth literature - Give him time, he just arrived.
Tess physically abused - Check.
Lois knocked unconscious - Check.
Lois plays dress up - Check.
Chloe invades someone's privacy - Though she hacked into someone else's computer and was apparently badgering all the justice league members I'm saying no.
Chloe says something bitchy to Clark - Check.
Oliver loses his shirt - Check.
Supporting character gets more screen time than Clark - Check (Lois).
Comic book character appearance (only one credit per character) - Check, hello John Corbin.
Savior Level of authenticity : 8/10
Looks like the list works for the premier. Let's see how it holds up as the season progresses...

What if I were Lois?
Chloe hounds Clark about feeding Shelby. Chloe makes both least favorite moments so far? I sense a trend!

Corbin gives Clark a piece of his mind. Kudos to Brian Green for a great performance!
OMG moment
Stop that bus!
Corbin gets hit by a bus and dies in a pool of blood.
WTF moment
Inquiring minds want to know.
Lois would rather have her Daily Planet job than break a story about aliens. WTF, Oh, Lois, you're starting a trend too.

Someone kneeled before Zod - No Zod.
Zod quotes earth literature - No Zod.
Tess physically abused - I have to give Tess credit, bless her heart, she tried but Lois declined fighting with her.
Lois knocked unconscious - Check.
Lois plays dress up - No, but only because people would have been less likely to show her their keys if she were dressed like a harem girl.
Chloe invades someone's privacy - Hacked Lois' computer? Showed up unannounced at the farm? Double check.
Chloe says something bitchy to Clark - Check.
Oliver loses his shirt - No Oliver, so Corbin had to be the stand in. Not as appealing with a prosthetic is it?
Supporting character gets more screen time than Clark - Check (Lois again).
Comic book character appearance (only one credit per character) - Sorry Corbin, counted you last episode.
Metallo level of authenticity: 4/10 (or should it be 4/7 with Zod and Oliver MIA?).
What the hell? Ether my list is suck or Metallo was not much of an authentic season nine episode! But not to worry, I'm sure things will be back to normal for Rabid when Oliver and Zod return!
