Claude Monet lived in Giverny for 43 years. We were there for several hours. If you've ever seen some of his Water Lilies paintings you've almost been there. His house is a museum - no photographs allowed, but the pièce de résistance is the gardens. There were lots of flowers of all types - and then we crossed over to the Japanese pond garden where the lilies grow. What a gorgeous place! It is a 45 minute train ride from Paris to Vernon and then there is a bus that takes you to Giverny.
