The long road home...
I am so freaking tired...I'm in a really good mood but I'm totally sick so I keep getting cranky and crabby with stupid people on the phone at work...only four more hours to go...LAME.
Anyway, City Hall further dicked me over by informing me that to get a permit for a truck I have to give them all my information from the moving company and will not be issued a permit without a license plate number so my idea of faking it is out. The moving company themselves informed me that the units are actually permitted as dumpsters in Chicago so theoretically I can have them put it in the alley. We will see what happens. I'm not worried about it getting ticketed because I won't be liable - the company will. I'm only worried that they will attempt to tow it and then I lose all my stuff - eeep! So I'm waiting for an email from my account coordinator. So yeah. We'll see.
I want to start packing but I have thus far resisted the temptation. It's funny because this time last year I was already basically completely packed...anything I didn't need was taped up in a box. But my last apartment had a whole room that Liz and I didn't use (the dining room) so I had a place to stack everything up and still had plenty of room to 'live' in....but now it's just me and my living room is half of my living space and I actually live in it! Haha...my couch and I are really really good friends, it's true. Plus I just can't get enough of my boyfriend, TiVo. =) AND...on Wednesday the maintenance guys are coming to repaint and fix anything that needs to be fixed before I move out so there's not much point in packing anything up so that they just have more stuff to move around. Luckily Meaghan and Nicole are coming on the 8th to pick up the stuff they are buying from me so that will give me a little bit of room to work with...and then it's only two weeks to get it all packed up! I've already been really good and gotten rid of a lot of stuff...three trash bags worth of clothes and shoes, warranties and paperwork for stuff I don't even have anymore...
Anyway, so yeah...all is well and if it doesn't rain before I leave work, I'm gonna go to a movie tonight! Good times...
And just for the record, I really like that now you can put your location on your journal, then you click on it and it looks up a google map so you can see right where I am when I'm typing! Sweet!
