Still around. . . .

1. Big, big win for the A's last night. It was kind of bummer going to the game on fleece blanket night and having them run out right before we got to the stadium (one hour early and on a Tuesday night!). And then it looked like the A's were going to get shut out again for a third consecutive day. But the game turned around. Kotsay verbally kicked some tushies after the horrible sixth inning and the good guys put together a fantastic win, one they really needed. Special thanks to Jermaine Dye, for bobbling an easy pop-up which put Scutaro on second in the eighth inning. It was bizarre since Dye is such a good fielder and must have caught like 1,000 fly balls in right field at the Coliseum over the past several years when he was an A.

2. My wife is leaving me. Well, just for two weeks, but its really starting to set in now. :(

3. I'm trying to plan a trip to Philly in July, but I haven't heard back from my bosses yet approving my vacation request. I'm sure it will be granted, but I don't want to buy any (rapidly increasing in price) tickets until I know for sure.

4. I gotta get back to the gym.

5. There was an article in the Daily Review earlier this week which used the Schiavo case as a vehicle to talk about the dangers of bolemia, especially in young teenage girls. Why has it taken so long to focus on that aspect of the case? Instead of the nonsense brought about the Republicans/Right-to-lifers/misplaced hadicapped advocates, this is the important story. Far too many lives are destroyed by this disease.
