New pic!

Wheee! It's a new userpic! This is my brother and I at Thanksgiving (yes, this is my new haircut. See, not that exciting ;)

I'm feeling a bit better. I felt terrible all day today, but I just forced myself to eat something (despite the nausea) and now I think I'm doing better. Though I've thought that before.... and I have yet to move. Moving isn't always good. Perhaps I should move eventually, though...

Did you know flat Coke is wonderful to settle stomachs? Mmmmm, flat pop. And yes, it's pop, damn it, I'm from the Midwest. As much as I don't like to admit that ;)

I spent all day today doing nothing productive since I couldn't think straight what with the lack of food. So hopefully tomorrow I'll work work work! I HAVE to do laundry, before it eats my room. It's getting kind of scary ;o)

Oh, but I read a good book my mom gave me! It's called "the curious incident of the dog in the night-time." It's written from a first-person perspective of an autistic kid. It's rather weird, but very good and interesting. It's been a while since I read a book for fun.

I might try out for Urinetown next week. That's the MIT IAP musical. Seriously, I'm not making the name up. It's about a town where the people have to pay for the privilege of urinating due to the water drought. Yes, it's very weird and silly, but it would be fun.

But I'm not sure it's even worth trying for, given there are only a few female parts, plus :

"In keeping with our constitution we give preference to MIT students over alumni, MIT staff, current Musical Theatre Guild members, and other members of the MIT community, and preference to all of them over those with no MIT affiliation. This doesn't mean that an auditioning MIT student will always get a role over a non-student nor that someone with no MIT affiliation will always be turned down. However, auditioners with no MIT affiliation should be aware that they will only be cast in a role if the directors believe that no one with an MIT affiliation can fill it adequately."

Even if they include Wellesley as an MIT affiliate (since we are, but that doesn't always seem to hold), we'd still be given preference after all MIT students. I get why they do this, it just sort of stinks for me. Unless no MIT sopranos try out. Then maybe I can get in ;o)

As much as I love musicals, auditioning is just the worst thing on the planet. Someone totally evil thought it up. Ok, there's not really any other way to cast a show, but still, it's EEEEEVVIIILLL. Because no matter what I say or try and think, I always really think I might get in. Then why I don't, it sucks :( Then again, when I do, it rules! :) So there's that.

Hey, and if my pattern holds, then I'll get in. Of the last four musicals I've tried out for : got in, didn't get in, got in, didn't get in. And the ones before that (all 12) don't count because everyone got in 'cause it was LS, MS, and HS.

And I think that's all for now. Oh! Except I found a new comic I like (there was a link on the QC page): http://www.frozenreality.co.uk/comic/bunny/ Bunnies! Bunnies bunnies bunnies.

See you WACers tomorrow!
