I'm a fairly unhappy Jackie at the moment, as I just discovered the lovely, big, color posters for Urinetown that I put up in our Student Center have been torn down. They followed poster policy. There was PLENTY of room on the walls (they were actually the only thing up at the time, since they must have cleared the boards after first semester). They were not expired.
Why would someone do this? It's just so.... lame of them. And now I certainly don't want to waste more posters in the Campus Center, but it would be a good place for more pubbing.
Sigh.
I also fell down the stairs yesterday, since I'm just graceful like that, mildly re-spraining my bad ankle and scraping my other leg. I forgot my ankle brace both last night and this morning, and it was rather hurting earlier.
My brother got back to New York to discover his job was gone, since some more senior math teachers came back. They have him teaching Global History now. After a tough first semester at an inner city public school teaching math to freshmen who were already behind, I think he was looking forward to a new semester, having more of an idea of what he should do with these kids, some more lesson plans laid out, etc. And now this happens.
Ok, on to happier thoughts. Let's go in backwards chronological order.
Yesterday evening I headed back to MIT, despite the fact that we didn't have rehearsal, because Nikki had organized a cast/crew hang out. We watched the most hilarious movie ever. I think it was called High School: the Musical, or something equally lame. It was a Disney movie, and it was just so bad and cliche that it was hysterically funny.
And then we watched some 'slasher movie' some of the boys in Newsies had made on the set. It was also rather great, with lots of ketchup blood and such. And one guy shit himself to death. And then it all exploded at the end. Oh no, I gave the ending away! ;o)
There was also excellent food there. Namely, chocolate mousse with strawberries. And brownies. And truffles. For a chocaholic like me, well.... wow. Just wow. Except I was fairly full from dinner, so I didn't eat as much as I would have otherwise. And there was orangina! All thanks to Isaac (except the truffles, but sadly I don't remember the name of the girl who made them. She's crew, I think....). And Isaac lent me America (the book) by Jon Stewart, which is excellent beyond words, just like the Daily Show. Which I sadly never watch, since I don't watch tv at school.
Danbee was her usual crazy hyper self, Nikki was all cute and little-kiddy (was she always like this, even before being Little Sally?), and everyone was their usual (insane) selves. Thus much funness was had. In between movies was some running around screaming out in hallway with the red ball and then the beach ball... we were taking bets on how long it would be before either security came, or we needed to break out the (shiny new) first aid kit.
My brother came to see the show Sunday, along with Kristin (sp?) and the other Matt. I hung out with them afterwards, which was fun.
Friday and Saturday I went out to dinner after the show along with cast and crew. Saturday bx came to see the show - all by her lonesome, since I guess Erin was sick or something. I was rather impressed she still came! But bx just rules like that. And then she came to S&S with us afterwards, which was really fun. It's about two blocks away from where I (sort of) lived last summer. Felt kind of weird being back there.... anyway, I got cheese blinztes! Yum!! :)
And I also got pick-pocketed. Luckily it was just by my friend, who gave my stuff back to me. But now I'm rather paranoid about this, especially since I knew he was trying to do that... It's a lot harder to protect my backpack than a purse.
Before the performance Saturday, I had an excellent dinner with my Mom and Aunt, which was very fun :)
As usual I'm sure I had something else I meant to post... but now I can't remember it...
By the way, the pic is just a random cute cat pic that I found online. Because, well, it's cute. 'nough said.
Ok, I'm in a better mood than I was when I started typing this update. I'm chatting with the awesome Jerilyn, who I don't see/talk to often enough :)
Oh, and I'm a burrito... um, because I can bend over and touch my toes? Or something? Blame Steve for that one. Or Steeeeve, as some would say ;)
