It's official...
Sadly, I will not be competing at IWPS this year. I really wanted to do it but in the end, it came down to a money issue.
I ran some numbers and it looks like I'd be looking at around $600 after everything was done. It's not that $600 is a huge chunk of cash or that I don't have it, but it's more than I was willing to part with for such an event.
Sure, if I'd win I'd get my money back, but my odds of winning are (at best) 10:1 and I can finance 2+ runs of NOCFY with the same capitol. Sometimes I really hate making grown man decisions. Looks like I'll have to catch you all in 2010.
On the upside, as a consolation/replacement, I will be doing the Great Plains Poetry Pileup- which I'm really looking forward to.
