It’s time to move on to another job. All the signs are present. My hours are cut by the same amount on a regular basis. My schedule changes weekly between days, nights, and evenings without notice or reason. The normally abundant work sent to us by IMS shops has slowed to a trickle in recent months. The supply budget has been reduced and my expenditures are audited every month now. Clients for whom price had never been a concern are suddenly renegotiating their contracts.
Oh, and nearly thirty LDS shops have been closed since the announcement of our buy-out by Ricoh just two months ago.
It’s always best preemptively change occupation rather than wait for the inevitable lay off (or worse, to have my employment terminated for some bullshit behavioral complaint so Ikon won’t have to pay my unemployment.)
It’s too bad. I was really happy with this job.
