Knocking

My brother told me about a movie he'd seen recently called Knocking.
It's a documentary about Jehovah's Witnesses made by non-Witnesses.
It's quite good and my family and I enjoyed it.

I suggest that if you can find someone who has a copy to borrow it or look and see if your local video rental store has a copy or something.

You can order a copy on the website.

Plus, one of the guys in the film is a local brother from the Frisco congregation near my hometown, Dallas. (Frisco is a small city about a half hour away from Dallas.)
And coincidentally, we've been having a lot of brothers give talks from the Frisco congregation lately.
Anyway, it's very interesting and unbiased. It shows Jehovah's Witnesses in a very good light.

It goes into the stories of two families of Witnesses. In one family, a young man is in need of a liver transplant but is finding it difficult to find a doctor willing to do the surgery without the use of blood.
In the second family we meet a brother who suffered through 6 concentration camps as a teenager and a Jew. It was in a concentration camp that he met Jehovah's Witnesses and admired their spirital strength. After release, he became one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

I highly suggest it.

EDIT: OH! If you can't find anyone to borrow it from and you don't want to buy it off the bat, it WILL show on PBS Tuesday, MAY 22, 2007. Look on your local PBS channel to find the time and if it's not showing in your area, the website gives advice on how you might talk to your PBS channel to get it to show. Rememeber, May 22, 2007!
(thanks proverb, for reminding me.)
