Okay, enough with the snow.

This was taken Saturday night, after a pass by the neighbor, but after it had stopped snowing.

All night last night, the lonely fellow in a Bobcat worked at clearing as much of the parking lot as possible, for which we are thankful -- but boy, the "vroooommmm....BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP" just wouldn't quit from 2-5am.

His efforts weren't for naught; you can see bare pavement, and there are several mounds, each topping out at about 9 or 10 feet high. It looks ridiculous, verging on dangerous.

Today saw a massive dig-out; my neighbors had dug out one car (mostly) by the time I emerged into the cold, and the space beside my car had been visited by the plow, so I actually had room to work. Still, a 4-foot drift awaited me -- my poor little CRV was invisible and for a moment I feared that I'd dug out the wrong car.

I dug out my car, then scooted it into the vacant spot, to make digging out the other car easier. But there was so *much* snow, it took about 2.5-3 hours. Luckily it wasn't lonely work, and after we'd freshened up a bit, Tim and Laura (the neighbors) popped over for a brownie and we chatted for a while.

Asthma's a bitch in this weather, especially when doing hard labor. (Shoveling snow definitely burned off the brownie, and probably breakfast as well.) We probably moved a ton, literally, for each car. It's a heavy, wet snow, too -- great for making snowballs and forts, but a right royal pain for the grown-ups. And now my inhaler's run out.

And now, as I rest my various aches and continue coughing, I am in absolute dread of the NEXT bloody storm...there are apparently two more on the horizon, each promising more White Doom.

The upcoming Tues/Weds storm is expected to bring another 6-12 inches. There's another mess scheduled for the 15th -- perhaps we'll avoid losing yet ANOTHER weekend to the White Doom.

I am heartily sick to DEATH of the bloody snow.

weather, snowmageddon, ouch
