You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Grew up in Baltimore, went to college in Westminster, and moved a bit south for work. Currently live in Columbia, MD.
OCCUPATION
Since 1/1/2000, I've worked for a little software company called NetComm. (Unrelated to other larger firms with the same name.) I make web-based software.
I've also spent most of the last 7 years slaving away for Otakon, a convention for fans of anime, manga, and east Asian pop culture. My current title is "Guests, Industry, and Press Relations Section Chief".

Two kitties: a tortoise-shell poly-dactyl named Fuu, and a little fluffy gray one named Momo.
They're very social and cuddly, but there's approximately one brain total among the two of them.

Dad is an "unwillingly retired" HVAC technician; Mom is currently daycare for my nephew.
Who are some of your closest friends?
I've known my buddy John for over 25 years now, and lived with him for a solid 8 years, so we're pretty much brothers at this point. I see Pook every week, give or take, and Lori and Monica less often but we're still pretty close. I talk to Scott and Kathy nearly every week. Of my college buds, the one I see and talk to most often is Royce, but the rest of us do a fairly decent job of staying in touch, one way or another, despite the inevitable drift. Sean and Alice, Kat, Terry, Alex, and many more buddies from Otakon, are newer additions to the mix; we see a lot of each other and much of that time is in the trenches, working on stuff we're passionate about.
There are many, many more friends that I just don't see as often, but whenever we get together it's like we were never really apart. There are too many friends to list here -- and that's well before you get to more casual acquaintances, or the literally hundreds of folks I know through work or Otakon.
Really, I'm blessed with quite a few *extremely* close friends, and an abundance of good friends, and literally hundreds of other friendly connections -- including many old and dear friends I just don't get to see very often.
(So if you're one of them and I didn't list you here, don't take offense -- this is more of a random sampling than anything else!)
