Tech upgrade get!
Busted digital camera: replaced with the newer TZ5, which cost me nearly $100 less and is much better. Now I have a camera for the holidays again.
(Granny's busted digital camera: also replaced with a newer model. It goes nicely with her new 37" flat-panel HDTV that she bought.)
Replaced my dying Treo 650 (now 3 years ancient) with a Blackberry Curve. Blackberry's free software didn't work worth a damn, so I got Missing Sync, but it was 90 minutes of frustration getting it to work. I can't remember EVER having to reboot my mac so often to get a stupid synching operation to work.
However, now it's done, and all's forgiven. Thus far the sound quality alone is nearly worth the upgrade. I'm pimping it out now.
I also picked up an external DVD burner to do some duping. The amount of time it saved was pretty much worth it. It worked instantly out of the box. I'd picked up this LG model purely on the assertion in a forum that it'd work, and the assurance from the salesman that they'd take it back if it failed to work. It worked a charm.
So all in all, pretty successful Tech Upgrade Weekend.
