Drugs and Doctors

After a night of difficult sleeping, a morning spent unable to get anything useful done because I couldn't actually make my home computer connect to the office FTP site (probably a firewall issue), and a lingering headache, I went to the doctor's office.

While I kicked the ear infection, my sinuses are still rough and I have a lingering cough.

I waited AN HOUR after my alleged appointment start time -- they were swamped with summer colds and short staffed -- and then, since my usual doctor was on vacation, sat down with a different one. Results were basically what Dr Poblete feared.

1. Still got an infection. Therefore, I am given the extremely expensive Levoquin, a 7-day powerful dose of antibiotics.

2. Still got inflames sinuses and PND. Got a steroid dose to take for a week, which is going to be useful. I also got a kit to flush my sinuses.

3. Was told to stop taking ALL my over-the-counter cold/sinus meds, right now, until this is dealt with and they see how my blood pressure reacts.

Yup, got high blood pressure. Stress, weight, and heredity may be factors, but the likely answer for the sudden spike is all that allergy crap. So they want it all out of my system, and they want me to monitor it as best I can.

Mind you, the stress levels aren't going down anytime soon. (rolls eyes)

being sick sucks, blah
