Home again.

Wow, a whirlwind week, playing at being a mover and shaker. Reasonably successfully, might I add.

Perhaps one day I'll tell the full tales. Short version is that I met a bunch of new folks, saw a bunch of old friends and acquaintances, and threw a real live celebrity party at a hipster bar. (Cheers to ANN and Sakura Con, who also chipped in, and to Taleisin Jaffe, who set the thing up.)

But I *just* missed one of my favorite comedy stars, Dave Foley, who was apparently there. And I never did manage to connect with Yoko Ishida. But I *did* get to chat with Toshihiko Seki, who among other things is the Japanese voice of David Tennant on Doctor Who. (Yes, he finds keeping up with Tennant's rapid-fire delivery is very challenging.) And I saw many of my usual industry and con world buddies, which was also nice.

Of course, aside from the fun and networking adn functionality, there was plenty of drama, nonsense, and politics to go around. I will say, however, that I hereby give Anime Expo its props for the stuff they got right this year. Though we were struck over and over by the differences between our style and theirs.

Blisters. OMG Blisters! My feet really, really hurt. I MUST get new sneakers.

No sleep on the plane, really. Slept most of today instead.

Also? I will soon make my post on the Doctor Who finale....but for now, I have to follow up on a few things.
