Sylvester McCoy is a delightful fellow. Having just come from doing King Lear with Ian McKellan, he was telling me about his lovely trip in New Zealand and Peter Jackson's awesomely cool house.
Yes, Doctor Who and Gandalf had dinner together in Bag End. Sadly, he wasn't able to bend my ear for too long about it -- though clearly it would have taken no effort at all to get him to -- because other people noticed he was there and, well, you know how it is.
Sat next to Stephen Moffat listening to Andrew Cartmel talk about the final years of the original series. Lisa Bowerman has now won me over and I'll have to start listening to her as Benny. (She's wonderful as a guest, BTW.)
Bumped into a few faces from the old days of RADW. (Luckily none of them was one of the psychopaths whose names shall not be spoken here.)
Picked up Andrew Cartmel's PRISONER novel, got it signed, and Jon, apparently he quite liked yours. And Paul Cornell says hello to you and Kate.
Dropped a bit of coin in the dealer's room (Derek Jacobi as Professor Yana! HUMAN NATURE fob watch!) and will have to figure out how on earth to get it home.
Have found out Joel Hodgson from MST3K will be a surprise guest tomorrow!
WHY DID I NOT BRING MY DAMNED DVDS???!!!! So many signing possibilities. Ah well.
I'm not thinking straight because I'm so doped up on meds....and MAN am I dry. Mind you most folks don't mix every OTC allergy med at the same time.
Surreal being at a con that has (for today at least) fewer people than we have on staff at Otakon. Very accessible and intimate.
