So apparently Microsoft had a critical security update ...and took it upon itself to update my computer automatically and restart it without asking.

I do not approve of this, largely because the history of such things -- y'know Microsoft being proactive without asking or informing -- has been almost universally appallingly catastrophic.

Can't wait to see what it screws with this time.
