Bonjour mes amies!!
It is raining here today and even the rain is beautiful! I wish you could all see the Alps for yourselves... the only word for them is amazing.
My host family is really funny. Even though she is really nice to me all the time, my host mother gets really grumpy and angry all the time. She will just start yelling at her kids and it can be slightly amusing. You see, when I don't understand what she is saying I just make it up in my head. Yesterday morning the 2 year old woke up early and started crying and screaming. Her room is on the first floor. The mother didn't want to get out of bed. Her room is on the second floor. The conversation, yelled from oppositse side of the house, when like this:
"Shut up and go back to sleep!"
"No mama! Please!"
"SHUT UP! I'm still sleeping!"
"Please mama! Please!"
"Leave me alone!"
"Please mama!"
"You ruined my life! I was happy before you came along!"
"Please mama! Please!"
"Shut up! I hate you!"
"PLEASE MAMA!"
This continued for about half an hour. Half of me felt bad for the kid and the other half wanted to laugh.
Least weekend I went to Mt. Blanc in Chamonix... It was incredible! I can't wait to show you all the pictures. Tomorrow I am going to Lyon to sample wine and cheese and next weekend I am going to see the UN in Geneva! I can't believe this!
One of my favorite things to do, though, is just to sit in one of the cafés along the canals and sip café au lait. It is like this really frothy delicious coffee drink. The coffee's great, the view is amazing... INCREDIBLE! Also, often for lunch I just go to this little corner stoory and buy a bagette, cheese, and a bottle of wine. I take it all down to one of the docs out on lake and sit there and eat. This lake is the cleanest lake in all of Europe, you would not believe how blue it is. Plus it is surrounded by huge, towering mountains... I am in heaven.
Well, I'm going to brave the rain to grab some food before class. Love you all and miss you. Wish you were here!
