Moving on..over

Saturday I moved Colin into my apartment. No, no one moved out. He moved into my room with all of his stuff. Long story short, a few weeks ago his roommates, who are dating and getting married in Canada soon, informed him that they had found a new apartment on the Upper East Side and would be moving. Colin could take over the lease if he wanted to, but would have to inform them by 4pm the next day...booo. Not that Colin wanted to stay in the rat infest, pgistye of an aparment in unappetizing ChinaTown, but they still gave him less than 24 hours to decide. He decided not too. He still had til the end of May to move/find an apartment. Well, we decided the best thing to do was to move into my apartment and figure things out while there wasn't such an anxiety attack waiting to happen. So that brought us to the move.

We started the move at 3pm on Saturday. He arrrived at his apartment with Uhaul van, where I was waiting with Matt's girlfriend Lisa, and we starting loading it on up. Did I mention he lives on the 5th floor of a walkup! Yeah, oh and I decided that running 7miles the day prior at the gym was a good idea. NOT! It took us about an hour to load everything into the van, then another 1.5/2 hours to drive from ChinaTown to Astoria in large van, through NYC traffic. It was soooo much fun...again, NOT!

We arrived at my/our apartment a little after 5pm and starting loading it upstairs. That took about 20minutes. We hopped back in the van to take a bunch of stuff to GoodWill but came back later with it because there was no drop off box and too much traffic so we brought it back and Colin took the van back and I started figuring out where his stuff would go. This was easier than expected and we were basically done with all of the putting away/setting up by 11pm. We did finish some other little things on Sunday, but not too bad.

Sunday, I wake up and basically cannot walk. Legs achy so much and walking like old man. Going down stairs unbearable. So today they are not much better, but the move is done. I feel like a grown up and we go from there.
