Brown

Astoria Queens has been in a state of BROWN OUT for the last three days. The high temperatures have caused the electric system to go haywire. What does this mean? Well, Monday it meant that the A/C's would not run at full power, and the lights were always a little dim. However, Tuesday this meant, fires in manholes, the police telling us not to use electricity unless it was necessary. So, I went home from work yesterday and did not turn on my a/c or any lights. It was 100 degrees in my apartment and almost unbearable. I did turn on a fan, that at high speed was barely blowing and at that blowing hot air. It's a huge mess. And to top this off, My CABLE is also not working because of all the mess. This means no interent, no cable tv and not entertainment. It was a horrid night in Queens, luckily Colin lives in Manhattan and I was able to escape there after he got out of class. Though I did have to wait a little longer than expected because of the HORRID THUNDERSTORM that occurred when I was getting ready to leave my apartment. So good times. Tonight I am off to dog-sit for Mr. Cearley. Colin and I will be living on the Upper East Side for almost a week while Nick goes and plays with some friend in P-Town.
