LUBFLL - #1, 2

Alas, the much-looked-forward-to and ultimately disappointing holidays has come to an end. There was much procrastination, lazying around, wandering around the Internet - it certainly wasn't a productive holiday, no. It's not too restful, either, since I spent probably about 60% of my waking hours worrying about the exam ahead though not really doing anything about it (ahem).

Still, it has been quite ... nice.

There were hot, suffocating afternoons with a thunderstorm looming overhead but never really raining; a leisurely lunch at McDonalds' with my bro where we talked about, of all things, qualities that we look for in prospective boyfriends/girlfriends (well, not exactly in detail, but it was quite eye-opening, to say the least); walks in the neighborhood during lazy afternoons looking for things to eat; jogs walks in the morning with dad that led to sinful breakfasts; late nights on the Internet.

Not exactly what people would call 'fulfilling' or even 'meaningful', but I guess maybe we all need those lazy days once in a while.

Maybe I'm just justifying my un-productiveness. Maybe I'm looking for excuses. But memories - like life - is what you make of it. No use regretting now. I choose to look on the bright side.

I truly had a good time. And I'm not going to trade with hours of studying.

If there's anything I learnt, though, it's gotta be that things never go according to plan.

It's something I always forget. Thus I've decided to make a List of Useful But Forgettable Life Lessons (LUBFLL*).

And of course, Lesson #1 - Things Never Go According To Plan.

I've always reacted negatively to it, I've realized. And looking back, apparently that's just wasting my energy. So I will resolve to not freak out/get agitated when that happens. Which leads me to Lesson #2, which my dad told me over and over again since I remember:

Lesson #2 - Rules, Objects and Other Annoying Stuff are Dead. We are Not.

There are always other ways around stuff, just like there will always be different ways to look at things. So, be versatile. Flexible. Not freak-outish/able (which is not a word at all, but conveys the idea perfectly. Ahem).

*Aww, the acronym is so cute. Even more so when it's unintentional.
