bangkok in summary - course, love of siam lead, lack of sleep, massages & shopping

spent 8 days in bkk, my longest ever!
the first 5 days or so, it was practically a prison within the hotel..
course work started 8.30am till 10ish daily and project work did end till 4-5am too!
that meant way too little sleep for poor me!

hotel's pretty decent @ amari watergate
right smack in the middle of pratunam market, though it was useless cos i aint too keen abt copies...
hotel staff were really nice and accommodating, perhaps in view of my company...
food's ok, but boring...
it was bad from wed to fri when it was a total "black-out" that happened to the hotel...
there was some star club convention or sorts...
so suddenly from a quiet, peaceful hotel it was a fully booked hotel...
80% of the guest were from india...
i've nothing against them unlike the hotel and my colleagues...
but yes, it was a bit over-bearing having strangers screaming and shouting and be outlandishly rude to you...
taking the elevator was a torture, cos every trip was a 20mins wait before you are lucky enough to squeeze into one..
that meant, missing breakfast, and being late for my course!

love the course!
it was painful and long but it was all worth it!
it was filled with international participants, with me being the only one fr singapore...
very nice ppl to interact and work with...
dunno where they heard from or where the hype started from...
everyone seemed to have 'too high' an expectation of me...
even trainer was drilling me more than others...
i was the only one forced to do the entire course project work on my own...
this meant additional work...
and it was a lot more additional work when he decided that my project should be expanded even bigger than the norm...
turned out pretty good, less the laptop scare on one day...
i think i was one of the first participants he has ever had that he couldn't kill me off during the negotiation process...
the joke was everyone was forcing me to give them my presentation after the course...

missed baby a lot through the week, tho we had skype to communicate on most nights..

met up with the zhu and his fren on one night... really nothing eventful!
was simply too tired...

went suan lum night pasar to get similar rugs that baby wanted more of...
as well as some pretty neat fisherman's pants that again baby wanted more of...
then mbk to buy some food stuffies that filled my entire bag as per my sister's request...
bought some springfield stuff from centralworld who was having a mid year sale...
nothing much abt the shopping... i was quite sick of bkk, the traffic, and the polluted air...

oh, and met some mini-celeb there..
dunno his name, but the main eurasian male lead from love of siam...
he was there with a gal and some shop attendants were whispering abt him...

had some massages too...
though i was reminded that i so prefer the phuket thai massage over the bangkok which is different...

anyways, that's abt it for my bangkok trip...
the second part of the course (again in bangkok) should be sometime in september...
hopefully baby can come along then!
