Character/Pairing: Anakin/Tahiri friendship, mentions of the twins

Author's Notes: I didn't read the JJK books, so just bear with me. Set when Anakin is maybe 12-13.
“I dunno,” Tahiri groaned, her voice small and uncertain as she stood in the doorway. The rolling field of white that stretched out before her was both beautiful and daunting, and the cold air on her face - the only part of her still exposed - was a strange, if not unwelcome, feeling. “It’s kinda scary.”
Anakin was smiling at her, trying to be reassuring. His nose and cheeks were already turning red. “It’s not,” he insisted, holding out a hand to her. “I promise. You’ll have fun.”
“I dunno,” she said again, glancing up at the roof’s edge, hung thickly with a garland of icicles. “Those look dangerous. What if they fall on someone?”
“They just break,” he answered, laughing, shaking his hand at her. “They can’t hurt you. Snow is perfectly safe! The only thing you really have to watch out for is-“
Whatever he’d been about to say got cut off by the strangled sound he made when a large snowball caught him in the side of the head, exploding in a fall of white powder that just managed to dust the toes of Tahiri’s brand new snow boots.
“Is them,” Anakin finished, wiping the snow off the side of his head with the hand he’d been holding out to her. Distantly, Tahiri thought she could hear Jaina laughing.
“You’re it, Anakin!” Jacen called.
A moment of silence passed between the two young friends, until Tahiri finally said, “Payback?”
Anakin nodded. “Love to.”
Taking his hand, she stepped out into the snow.
