I'll be honest, I'm with you on choosing the first three options. Anytime the parents enter the picture, the psychological damage it can do to you can be horrendously overwhelming.

Any chance these books could be found in a library? I'm not sure what the sitch is at your uni, but I recall at mine they would have textbooks in the library available for those who couldn't obtain their own copies.

Are those overdraft fees going to collect any interest/late fees from now until after finals? (If they're going to stay the same, I'd say wait until after your finals are done before paying them.)

The books are in the library, and there is no compound interest as long as I catch the charges in two weeks. Between my two jobs, and plasma, I think that's totally possible...

For the record, afterwards, my friends really stepped up to a challenge I didn't even pose. One of them bought me lunch, which put me in a better mood, and the other loaned me a little money that was just enough to catch some of the charges. I felt a little better going to bed.
