A Rumbelle video with the song "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye. Kind of a sad breakup video, but that, sadly, was how it ended in the story. :( I hope next season will be better for them!

These two villains are pretty much bada$$ in everything they do. Since they are constantly in competition, this fan mix is kind of a showdown. I tried to make it not so much, "I hate you!" but kind of a joking competitive collection... "Mess" would probably have to be the most serious song on here, followed by "Bad Kids." *SPOILER!!!* Since it was confirmed that Sleeping Beauty would show up for season 2, I thought I would write a fic about her back story, that of course Rumpelstiltskin had to be involved in (because he's involved in everything. :P). I used some of his lines from the show, and I made up one for him...it's definitely not as catchy as his real lines, but it was fun adding to his character! :D Oh, and I used the fairy names from the Disney movie, even though that's technically not what they're called in the original fairytale story...but since Disney owns ABC, eh, who cares?
When Maleficent promised that Aurora would prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel, the king ordered for all spinning wheels in his kingdom to burn. "No problem," Maleficent thought cockily. She could easily obtain her own. But as Aurora's sixteenth birthday grew closer and closer, Maleficent found this task impossible, which was when Rumpelstiltskin paid her a visit.
"Rumpelstiltskin!" Maleficent hissed when he popped into her private castle.
"Not a very welcoming fairy, now are you, Dearie?" Rumpelstiltskin cackled.
"What do you want?" Maleficent snapped.
"It's not about what I want," Rumpelstiltskin explained, "but about what you want."
"I don't have time for this!" Maleficent yelled, and she turned her back to the dark on and she snapped her fingers, trying once again to produce a spinning wheel. As soon as she did so, it went up in flames, and she and Rumpelstiltskin stared at the burning wood.
"But you have time for this?" Maleficent refused to dignify him with a response. "No, you don't!" Rumpelstiltskin smirked. "You just can't seem to produce that one silly thing to enact your little curse on Aurora, now can you?"
"And I suppose you could?" Maleficent pouted.
"I do happen to be an experienced spinner!" Rumpelstiltskin winked.
"Fine! What do you want?!" Maleficent exclaimed.
"I thought you'd never ask," Rumpelstiltskin laughed, and he told Maleficent of the egg he wanted to feed her as a dragon that held the magic he wanted to bring to Storybrooke when the Evil Queen enacted the curse.
"That's all?" Maleficent questioned.
"That's all," Rumpelstiltskin confirmed. And Maleficent agreed to eat the egg as soon as Aurora died.
Rumpelstiltskin kept a watchful eye on Aurora and the three good fairies before her sixteenth birthday to be sure that he could hold up his end of the bargain. One day, the four ladies left their cottage to picnic in the woods. Rumpelstiltskin broke in and rummaged through their cupboards, mumbling, "Magic is power." Finally, in a chest upstairs, he found what he was looking for: the fairies' wands. A gift to himself, he rationalized, for having to watch the girls' boring lives.
When Aurora's sixteenth birthday finally approached, Rumpelstiltskin travelled to her kingdom. Right on the outskirts of the kingdom, twenty eight degrees northwest, where the king's magic was ineffective, Rumpelstiltskin placed his most beloved spinning wheel. Maleficent flew in and smiled at the beautiful weapon. She spun the wheel once, and then applied poison to the spindle. Now, all they had to do was wait for Aurora to prick her finger, and Rumpelstiltskin knew how to lure the young lady there.
Rumpelstiltskin popped back to Aurora's cottage in the woods, just as she and the fairies were preparing to journey back to the kingdom for her birthday. "Missing something?" he questioned the fairies, dangling one wand from his fingers.
"That's my wand!" Merryweather exclaimed as she aggressively snatched the blue wand out of Rumpelstiltskin's hand.
"Good luck on your journey with just one wand!" Rumpelstiltskin smiled maliciously. Flora gasped as Fauna ran upstairs to look for their wands in the chest they knew they had put them in, only to discover that Rumpelstiltskin was right. They only had one wand.
"What do you want?" Flora cried.
"It's not about what I want, but about what you want!"
"We just want our wands back!" Fauna continued.
"And I just want to help you get them back!" Rumpelstiltskin said.
"Then give them back," Flora ordered, holding out her hand.
"Oh, don't be silly! I can't do that if I don't have them!"
"Where are they, then?"
"On the outskirts of young Aurora's kingdom," Rumpelstiltskin smiled, walking over to Aurora and pinching her cheek. Immediately, Aurora wiped off the part of her face that Rumpelstiltskin touched. "Twenty eight degrees north west,” he specified, turning to look at the fairies.
"A little detour, but I think we can do it," Flora whispered to the other fairies, but of course Rumpelstiltskin heard. He made himself scarce until the girls finally left the cottage towards the last two wands. When they were finally gone, Rumpelstiltskin chuckled to himself and stated, "All magic comes with a price!"
