Movie review?

Oh, yes, my brother got caught up in the furor when he saw a trailer, went out and bought all the books, and I watched him reading the first and said, "Can I borrow that after you're done?"
Six books later, and growing intrigue in the trailers and other things... he, myself, and his wife all went...
So, for some reason, the theater we went to got stiflingly hot somewhere around the fight with Ramona's ninja ex (whose name escapes me...)
Anyway, the visuals are stunning, the acting actually was really impressive (yes, even Michael Cera who I wasn't really expecting to be good. Though he really could've put more emotion into the fights...) and the story, even the part that hadn't been put to page by the time they started filming the scenes (the last book, or, the entirety of Ghideon's fight, basically, wasn't out as the comic when they started filming that sequence) was fantastic.
Then, of course, once it was over, I started to think, and that's never good when the plot's a bit flimsy under inspection.
Okay, so, we really believe Scott is going to make it through six battles with seven people more powerful than him?
Those of us who play video games are really going to see the plot point the audience isn't supposed to... "Oh, no, Scott dies!" Gamers: "He just got a 1-up!" Scott gets a chance to redo the day, and makes himself look good for knowing what's coming. The little voice in my head: "Hey, Scott, how did you manage to fit two different swords in your heart?"
Final Verdict: "You know, the comic was definitely better than the movie." (Trust me, you'll hear it, it's damned obvious when it gets said.)
